What it does

The everyday work behind your public file

Bring preparation, source evidence, recurring reviews and follow-up into the same workspace. Start with your station profile so the work reflects its service, employment unit and known circumstances.

Choose a workflow, then sign in with an eligible Radio Workflow account to continue there.

The political file

Review political hints and search other orders without excluding them. Bring in available schedules, rates, airings, makegoods and credits. Add candidate, sponsor and request details, or record a request without an order. Generate a versioned PDF and confirm the exact file you uploaded.

Rate evidence for lowest unit charge

Compare rate evidence supplied by Radio Workflow by class of time, daypart and length, alongside election windows. Staff assess eligibility, comparable terms, packages and credits. The lowest observed rate alone is not a legal lowest unit charge determination.

The quarterly issues/programs list

Gather programming evidence and research from feeds and extractors. Review significant community issues and confirm the programs, dates, times and durations that addressed them. A research item or a voiced story is never treated as proof it aired. Applicability depends on the station's service and facts.

The EEO public file report

Prepare annual reports for covered employment units from vacancies, recruitment sources, interview data and outreach activities. Keep the annual report separate from the unit's longer-term outreach obligations. Staff confirm the unit, reporting period and supporting evidence.

Sponsor leadership lists

Prepare the actual sponsor's leadership list for covered political or controversial-issue broadcasts. Keep supporting research private, review the public names and broadcast references, and record where an exact generated version was made available. Earlier versions and corrections remain in the history.

Private programming diligence

Keep each arrangement's inquiries, responses and exact supporting document versions together. Record separate effort and source reviews, preserve unresolved answers, review renewal reuse from the original inquiry date, and download a private evidence index in complete numbered parts. Public disclosures and actual broadcasts remain separate work.

NCE donor and fundraising records

Prepare dated program donor entries during the quarter and quarterly third-party fundraising records for one selected stream. Enter actual activity, keep private source and authority notes separate, review the public fields and retain every generated PDF. Incomplete records remain drafts.

Foreign programming disclosures

Keep actual disclosure wording, broadcast times and quarterly inventory for each station stream. Review the public fields, prepare exact public copies or associate a reviewed external document, and track submission, availability and later readback separately. Corrections preserve the earlier record, and private diligence stays private.

A vault for the legal documents

Keep ownership reports, agreements and certifications with the relevant station. See the retention rule and any known date, with a review prompt when an agreement end or FCC action must be confirmed.

A scan of the live public file

Review the last eight due quarters of issues and programs lists and two annual EEO reports using FCC file metadata. Known political requests prompt a folder review throughout the year. A scan shows its coverage and any parts it could not read.

Routine deadlines in one place

Track quarterly lists, annual EEO reports, political windows and license renewals using station details. See what a task needs before recording it complete. Special FCC notices and station-specific obligations still need staff review.

Your stations, matched to the FCC

Unambiguous call-sign and band matches can be linked automatically. Review uncertain matches, station facts and FCC facility details before relying on a scan. Translators and other services are handled according to their public file requirements.

Requirements with a next step

Work through guided station questions and a source-linked catalogue covering ownership, sponsorship, website access and more. Record applicability, evidence and who handles each duty. Changed profiles prompt fresh review; choosing an adviser or integration does not complete the obligation.

A recurring station review

Enable daily review, inspect dated findings and optionally prepare drafts from retained station records. The agent coordinates public file checks and identifies work for staff. It shows unavailable sources and limited coverage instead of declaring the station compliant.

API and MCP access

Connect compatible tools to the published app workflows, including records, requirements, reviews, NCE preparation, work items and private backup downloads. Choose all app actions or specific permissions. Expiring, revocable keys and the same domain checks govern each operation.

Follow-up with an owner

Turn a finding or actual station notice into assigned work. Website, application-notice and selected-audit guides help staff collect the right evidence. Set an internal target and record the outcome. Changed finding evidence brings resolved work back for review.

A private political backup

Save retained political, disclosure and rate PDFs in ZIP parts with an inventory, hashes and collection instructions. Review missing and separately downloadable files, then save the package outside the app. Private drafts are included; this is preparation for a station backup, not a complete FCC mirror.

How it works

Start with the facts. Keep the evidence.

  1. 1

    Radio Workflow supplies the facts

Confirm your stations and review the orders, rates, available airing records, programming and research supplied by Radio Workflow. Missing or unavailable data is shown for review. Compliance does not change your traffic or billing records.

  2. 2

You add what only the station knows

Enter requests without an order, verified program airings, EEO activity, NCE donor or fundraising records and supporting documents. Guided questions help identify applicability and the follow-up that needs an owner.

  3. 3

Prepare, review and keep the evidence

Generate a PDF for station review and keep every version. Staff perform any required FCC upload. Record the exact upload in supported filing workflows, or retain the receipt with the station's evidence. Assign unfinished work and keep private backups current.

At the station

Less searching. More work you can finish.

A political request arrives

Capture the request and its disposition, including requests that never become an order. Bring in the available order evidence, add the required station facts and prepare the initial disclosure. Revisit the record when airings, charges or credits change.

A versioned record and a filing step staff can verify.

Record a request without an order

The quarter is ending

Review significant community issues, then connect them to programs that actually aired. Feeds and extractors help find research; staff confirm broadcast dates, times, durations and the treatment of each issue before generating the list.

A reviewable report built from identified evidence.

Prepare an issues/programs list

You look after several stations

Confirm facility matches, review station circumstances and inspect recurring findings. Confirmed HD aliases share their parent facility's public file while programming evidence keeps its actual stream. Changed station facts need fresh review; unavailable FCC sources stay visible.

One workspace with station-specific evidence and follow-up.

Review stations and facility matches

Your NCE stream has activity to document

Prepare dated donor entries for programs already broadcast during the current quarter. Record actual third-party fundraising events for the quarterly report. Keep private notes separate from public fields. Incomplete records remain drafts; quarterly fundraising and whole-quarter no-activity exports stay drafts until the quarter ends.

A preparation record with the stream and review work made explicit.

Prepare NCE records

Prepare before the FCC file is unavailable

Download the retained political PDFs and their inventory in ZIP parts. Save every part and any separately listed files outside the app, then add records held elsewhere. Keep private drafts and rate worksheets separate from material approved for public inspection.

A private working backup and a list of what still needs collecting.

Prepare a political backup

A notice or website problem needs an owner

Start from what staff actually observed or an FCC notice that identifies the station. Use the website, application notice or selected EEO audit guide, assign a workspace member, set an internal target and retain the outcome. Staff arrange any needed notification.

Follow-up with source evidence, an owner and a dated history.

Choose a station work guide

Start with the evidence you have

Choose a guide, then a station. The prompts help you record actual observations or notices; source dates and completion evidence stay blank until staff supply them.

Automation with visible evidence

Let the platform move the work forward.

Daily reviews and connected tools reduce repeat work. Review results retain their sources and limits, so a failed read or an unanswered question cannot quietly become a completed filing.

The platform handles

  • Unambiguous facility matching and scheduled public file metadata checks.
  • Routine date calculations using known station facts and supported FCC notices.
  • Versioned PDF generation, retained file history and recurring review findings.
  • Optional draft preparation from retained records when the agent is enabled.

Your team confirms

  • Station circumstances, applicability and special orders that change the normal workflow.
  • Candidate and sponsor details, request disposition and the meaning of rate evidence.
  • What actually aired and how it addressed community issues; EEO hiring and outreach facts.
  • The content to make public and the exact file and date uploaded to the FCC.

Connected tools can help

  • Use REST or MCP for the published app workflows, including record preparation, requirements, work items and agent settings.
  • Create scoped, expiring keys for compatible tools, retrieve authorized files and prepare private political backup parts.
  • Keep Radio Workflow read-only. Background review uses retained operational data; staff refresh live order evidence through their authorized connection.
  • FCC uploading currently happens in the FCC system. Engineering measurements and legal judgments need their own evidence.
Evidence and access

Know where a fact came from.

A prepared document, a station's upload confirmation and a dated FCC observation each answer a different question. Keep those distinctions visible throughout the work.

  • It never changes anything in Radio Workflow. It reads; your traffic and billing stay exactly as they are.
  • Operational rates and totals come from Radio Workflow. Source labels distinguish schedules, actual airing evidence and research. Staff still determine whether the evidence supports the required disclosure.
  • It prepares the file and names the folder, and you upload it. The station stays responsible for its public file, so the last step stays in your hands.
  • App access requires an eligible Radio Workflow role. API and MCP access also requires an active scoped key and the owner's current workspace access. A connection cannot grant itself broader authority.
Practical questions

Before you rely on a result

What should I do first?

Sign in with your Radio Workflow account, confirm the stations and FCC matches, and review the station facts. Then inspect the requirements and existing public file evidence before deciding which documents need work. A missing local record does not prove a filing is missing at the FCC.

What does the public file scan check?

It reads FCC folder and file metadata for selected checks, including recent due issues/programs periods and annual EEO reports. It can identify likely evidence and gaps, but does not read every document's contents or certify that every obligation has been met. Partial reads, errors and coverage limits remain visible.

Does it file with the FCC for me?

No. Staff perform the actual required filing or public placement. Political, issues/programs and EEO records let staff confirm the exact generated version and upload date. Sponsor leadership records also capture the reviewed inspection destination and exact-file placement evidence. For NCE preparation, retain the exact file and upload evidence in assigned work. Staff confirmation is separate from later FCC metadata observations.

Can I review an Issues and Programs PDF before all the details are ready?

Yes. Save your work and export a draft PDF with every saved issue, program and airing, even when required details are missing. The draft lists the outstanding checks and stays in your file history. Use it to review with your team, then complete the details and generate a final PDF for filing. Draft PDFs cannot be marked filed.

Do news feeds prove a program aired?

No. Feeds and extractors supply research candidates. A compiled newscast, a read marker or a routine weather update does not establish a significant community issue or an actual broadcast. Staff connect the issue to verified program evidence.

Does an annual EEO report complete our outreach obligations?

No. The annual public file report and longer-term outreach obligations are distinct. Coverage and the reporting period depend on the employment unit and its circumstances. Confirm changes in staffing, ownership or station membership before relying on a standard annual period.

Can staff prepare records without an imported order or story?

Yes. Record a political request, rejected request, free time or issue ad without linking an order. Add issues and programs from actual station evidence, enter EEO and NCE activity, or upload existing documents. A Radio Workflow sign-in and eligible workspace access are still required. Missing source data stays unknown until staff supply or refresh it.

What can a noncommercial station prepare?

Prepare program-specific donor entries as broadcasts occur, without waiting for quarter-end. Quarterly third-party fundraising reports and whole-quarter no-activity statements remain drafts until the quarter ends. Staff supply actual activity on one selected stream and review eligibility, authority and public fields. Private source and authority notes are omitted from these public PDFs. Every generated version is retained; preparation does not determine fundraising permission or record an FCC upload.

Will the political backup cover an FCC outage?

It is one part of preparation. While workspace access is available, download every ZIP part and any separately listed files, check the inventory and keep the copy outside the app. Add direct FCC uploads, vault files and other records held elsewhere. The archive includes private drafts and rate worksheets; it is not a complete FCC mirror or a public-access service. Your station arranges access and records new activity during an outage.

Can an agent work through the API or MCP?

Yes. REST and MCP expose the published app operations, including NCE preparation, political backup parts, work items, records, review runs and authorized files. Choose all app actions or narrower permissions on an expiring, revocable key. MCP clients need support for a custom Authorization header. The same validation and station confirmations apply; a key cannot supply missing facts or perform an FCC upload.

Are documents in this workspace public?

The workspace and stored files require authorized access. Uploading a document here does not publish it to the FCC. Review the intended destination and remove private material before making any public upload. See the data and controls page for how stored records, drafting and file access work.

Does a finished review mean the station is compliant?

It means that review finished within its stated sources and scope. The station remains responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of its public file and other FCC obligations. The product helps prepare, track and preserve evidence; it is not an FCC certification or a legal opinion.
